A service dog is a dog that has been individually trained to perform a task for an individual with a disability. The task that the dog performs must be related to the person\\\\\\\'s disability.
Emotional support Animals (ESAs) provide comfort to individuals suffering from anxiety, stress or other mental health concerns, and help them deal with challenges that might otherwise compromise their quality of life.
Therapy dogs provide relief to individuals to those in facility settings, or to individuals who require comfort with dealing emotional, or physical problems. Unlike Emotional Support Animals, therapy dogs do not require a prescription from a healthcare professional.
Dog obedience training helps dog owners understand the fundamentals of dog behaviour to bond better with their canine friend.
Research shows that mental stimulation is important in keeping dogs happy and engaged. It helps to build confidence, alleviate boredom and reduce destructive behaviours.
Obedience training is a great way to build a strong bond with your dog. Training helps build mutual understanding, confidence and trust in both dogs and owners, which are key components of a positive and rewarding human-dog relationship.
While you may believe that your dog is already well-behaved, it is important to understand that training is not solely for dogs with existing behavioural challenges. Dog behaviour naturally evolves over time, and many owners begin to experience behavioural issues as their dog matures, typically between one and three years of age. The most effective approach is to begin training as early as possible, before any issues arise. This allows owners to acquire the necessary skills to anticipate and address potential problems, preventing undesirable behaviours from developing. For this reason, we strongly recommend completing a basic obedience course at the earliest opportunity, rather than waiting to address one issue at a time. It is important to remember that it is never too late to start training – in fact, the oldest dog we have successfully trained was 14 years old. Additionally, our training sessions provide a wonderful opportunity for your dog to socialise with others in the class, helping them build positive relationships with their canine peers.
